Homemade Dinner, Alt Expose, and LARH Ball

Every week is a different adventure for Julia and we are so happy to see the pictures and hear the stories. Kudos on the girls shopping and cooking a beautiful meal in the dorm kitchen on Friday. Looks delicious! Saturday night, "Alt Expose with Ruth and Rose," was our highlight, 5pm on arouseOSU.com. Later, they attended the LARH Ball. There are also some pictures from the fine dining establishments  she visited.

On the home front, we got a new bed and drank lots of tea. The weather has been horrible, with no immediate end in sight (deep freeze).

Grandpa, Galentines, and First Formal

A family emergency took Steven to Rochester to see Grandpa mid-week. He is now safely transferred to St. John's Home.

Julia attended her first frat formal. But the real highlight of her week was her Galentine's Day celebration at Melt. Yum! Did you hear Caitlyn and Julia on Valentine's Day? They had a great playlist; tune into "Alt Expose with Ruth and Rose," Saturdays, 5pm, www.arouseOSU.com.

Alt Expose and Early Valentine Sweetness

If you missed the show on Saturday, check out the recording of the Alt Expose Show with Ruth and Rose! The gals are so adorable and what parent does not appreciate a personal shout out to them?! I even enjoyed the little, "Sorry mom, sorry mom." Go listen to see what that was about...;) Their audience metrics are improving; be sure to contribute by tuning in every Saturday, 5pm, at arouseosu.com!

Busy week, fully into the swing of classes. Go get 'em Jules--you can do it! We love you!

Steven and I went home shopping this weekend in celebrating an early Valentine's Day. I found the best, blue rug at Potterybarn called Bosworth and it looks dreamy in our dining room. The picture does not do it justice. And if you every questioned if the premium rug pad was worth it--it is!! We bought a new rug and pad for our bedroom too. Steven likes to have maximum cushion under his feet.
I have swapped tea for coffee and thus a whole supply of must-haves for the new addiction. The KitchenAid tea kettle allows you to select the water temperature (which apparently makes a big difference depending on the type of tea). I love it--quick, easy, and doesn't take up too much space. I also got the KitchenAid two-speed blender that rocks! I bought a bunch of tea and supplies from Teavana and walked out of there with a yummilious cup of Marshmallow Macaron tea.
So, this morning, I thoroughly enjoyed a perfectly tempered matcha blended with butter. Big thanks to Steven for being so generous, encouraging, and supportive regardless of my obsessions. Love you, babe.

Arouse OSU, North Market, and Superbowl

Exciting week for Julia--her first radio show! You must check it out, Arouse OSU, Saturday nights, 5 - 6pm, for "Alt Expose with Ruth and Rose." They were so adorable chit-chatting away and playing great tunes. We appreciated the shout out to the parents and playing Steven's "Black Eyed" request. Friday night, Julia had a girls' night, complete with sleeping in a fort, watching movies, and eating lots of chocolate. She has such a great group of girlfriends. Saturday they went thrift shopping and ate at North Market and Jeni's. Columbus, OH, is a great city.

The 49th Super Bowl was Sunday, Patriots versus Seahawks. The Patriots won, 28-24. It was a great game; didn't really enjoy the half-time show or the commercials this year. Jeff (Don's friend staying at Sarrge's for 10 weeks) made a ton of delicious food (two-thirds not pictured below). We brought Wagshal's jumbo shrimp and cookies. The Breens brought some yummy food too; Chad was there. It was fun, but we missed Julia!
