Loving the Peanut Butter

Peanut Butter is loving, crazy, and entertaining. Steven and Julia held down the fort--and kept the two cats separated--while I was in Cleveland for work. Congrats, Cavaliers on winning the NBA finals. Nobody went starving while I was gone; there was Peruvian chicken, among other good eats. Julia represented the family at Ethan & Kevin's graduation party and Hunter's birthday party. I gave Peanut Butter his first bath; he wasn't a huge fan, but didn't protest too much. Julia is volunteering this summer at the Common Good City Farm. She enjoyed the orientation session this weekend and is eager to contribute to the cause.

Peanut Butter Arrives

Thursday evening, we picked up Peanut Butter Simpson, born March 7, 2016. He is 13 weeks old. He is the sweetest kitten with spurts of fearlessness and spunkiness. We have had him quarantined in Julia's room; he is getting used to the loud door and darts under the bed less frequently. Julia got shrimp and pork belly rolls at Roll Play before driving out there; a favorite lunch spot for Jules and Steven.

The flower pot photos are from Jayme, the breeder. It was her last photo shoot with him.

Quiet is voicing his opinion regarding the whole situation often and not so nicely with hissing. Peanut Butter doesn't like it, but he doesn't hiss back. It is going to be a process.

Julia met up with Adam (OSU friend, policy fellow at Battelle this summer) and ate at Sequoia. Meme came out on Saturday to meet the kitty. He was playful and friendly. Sunday, Julia and Jessie went to the Capital Pride Festival. Check out the picture of Julia and Peanut Butter watching Zootopia.

Bday Party, Rack of Lamb, Free Food

We had such a fun time at the Westfalls to celebrate Todd's 52nd birthday! Noreen went above and way beyond with the delicious dishes--too numerable to count. We have a wonderful family and it was a blessing to spend time together. I think mom would agree, in spite of the f-bombs Chad blurted out here and there. He had Todd laughing hysterically.

Julia enjoyed another week replete with free, junk food from Management Concepts. The Little Bites blueberry muffins brought back sweet memories. It was one of Julia's favorites as a preschooler. While at times we bought the box of 5, it was more of a special occasion for her and me to walk up to 7-Eleven to get muffins and coffee. (Too late to call child services, and I cannot believe I fed her that given everything I know now.) I still love 7-Eleven, mix-my-own-concoction coffee.

Julia made a rack of lamb for dinner one night...oh, the joy of coming home to dinner all ready. Another night it was shrimp, pasta, and veg. She went to Elevation Burger with William.

I have proof of Quiet's love for Julia. Unfortunately, I think this will be immediately reversed upon Peanut Butter's arrival.

Special thanks to the kiddo for assisting in a nutritional video on selenium. She cooks, cleans, AND helps with homework!
