March for Science and University of Nottingham

Julia attended the March for Science in Columbus--great pics! The funniest picture of Julia is the one with the temperature: She looks real happy, huh? She is done with all of her classes...just has to make it through the final exams. Only one more radio show, Alt Expose with Ruth & Rose (you can check out a recording of the most recent show on their site)! She attended her last USG event (which included free food, of course)! No more days in the research lab.

Steven and I visited the home of British Deputy Head of Mission to the U.S., Patrick Davies, for incoming students and alumni of the University of Nottingham. Gorgeous home; and although networking is out of our immediate comfort zone, we were both really glad we went. So excited for Steven to embark on his next legal degree in the UK.

We went to CAVA (successfully, with no allergic reaction)!

Easter Favorites in Columbus

We had a wonderful weekend with Julia in Columbus. Her apartment is so neat and tidy! She stayed with us at the hotel and it seemed like a mini-Simpson getaway. Too short, but very sweet to spend time chillaxing. We had some delicious eats at the Northstar Cafe, North Market, Barcelona, Philco, and Jeni's. We walked on campus and saw her main atmospheric science building, Derby Hall. Unfortunately, the door was locked; we really wanted to see the lab that she works in. Sarah joined us for dinner and dessert Saturday night; she is such a sweet friend and roommate. Steven was a trooper, despite battling a horrible cold (hopefully you're still healthy, Julia!). While my intent was to shop and buy all sorts of goodies for Jules, we actually came home with stuff for ourselves...OSU gear, buckeye treats, bike poster, cat dish, and some thrift finds. At least we fed her over the weekend, LOL. I even took her "Easter basket" back home, since she only has 2 1/2 weeks left in Columbus and couldn't possibly get through all of the food. Instead, we transferred some cold, hard cash into her account. Counting the days until she comes home, May 4!

Concert, Community Service, and Good Eats

The Buckeye Blackout concert was a huge success! Julia was quoted in The Lantern regarding it.

I am inspired by Julia's knitting picture; it has been several months since I have touched my pillow cover project. Thank you, Sarah and her mom for treating Julia to a yummy meal at Schmidt's. Julia participated in Seeds for Change, a community service cleanup event. Almost done with the semester; and, since we cannot wait to see her May 4, we are going to visit her for Easter!!!

I received the Ambassador Award at work. It was a "red carpet" event.

2017 Time for Change Week at OSU

Julia is bustling with activities to support the 2017 Time for Change Week, a "series of fun events, talks, outdoor activities, and a concert to focus on how we can protect and sustain our Earth." Check out all of their impressive events! Especially fun for the incoming president will be the Buckeye Blackout concert, April 7, 8pm, at the Newport Music Hall.
