Rocking Birthday Celebrations

The tradition continues, celebrating our birthdays together with family and friends. Benjamin came to DC Tuesday night; fun to have him here for the parties. On Julia's birthday, we had the Sarrges and Chad for dinner (Wagshals turkey) and cupcakes, buckeyes, cookies. On my birthday, Aaron, Dana, Miriam, and Katie came over for desserts. It has been so long since we caught up with Miriam and Katie--two gorgeous sweeties! Quiet and Peanut Butter enjoyed the extra attention. We missed Meme, who was at Word of Life for the week. Remembering and missing Poppie as well...six years since his passing.

Wrapping Up Research and Celebrations

Busy week with fun celebrations! Julia worked really hard to wrap up her research. She also got a new haircut, which looks sleek and healthy. Meme came over for an early birthday dinner (forgot to take pics!). Julia and Benjamin celebrated their six-month anniversary; he sent gorgeous flowers in a cobalt vase. We had Magda's baby shower at work...still cannot believe that she will be on maternity leave soon. Steven is in the midst of final exams for Nottingham. The summer is flying so fast.

July 4 at Deep Creek Lake

Family fun at Deep Creek Lake! Many thanks to Lisa, Tony, Ethan, and Kathryn for hosting us. It was nice to get away, get on the various boats, and get caught up with each other. Julia had fun wakeboarding. Steven was in the water 80% of the time he was there. I tried the paddle board and loved it. We visited Deep Creek State Park and Swallow Falls State Park for the first time. Oh, and the food...Tony and I successfully deep fried a turkey and chicken wings. And, with Tony's prime spot, we thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks from the pontoon boat. Another great time and great memories made at the lake!
