Fairbanks hit 50 degrees on Friday! The ice and snow are melting. Julia spent the weekend working and walking. She and Megan went out for breakfast.
Also captured is Ivy, our security dog at work. She visits my office every day.

Julia and Benjamin were reunited in Tampa for a couples' getaway with Benjamin's college buddies from Ohio State and their significant others. You may recognize Wes, Tatiana, and Matt, among others.
Julia got badly sunburned on her face (expired sunscreen?), but they had a wonderful time. She has one more month in Fairbanks before moving to Albuquerque, NM, to be with Benjamin. It cannot come soon enough for them. It didn't help that when she got back to Fairbanks, she was greeted by fresh snowfall and freezing temperatures.
Congratulations to Dr. Emmie Hine on her defense! We really enjoyed her presentation and are so proud of her achievement!
On the home front, we have been going to many, many open houses. We were outbid on two houses in the last three weeks... so the search continues.
Julia is back in Fairbanks. Megan and Jules visited an art gallery hosted by the Fresh Eyes on Ice project of the International Arctic Research Center (IARC). They went cross-country skiing and then headed to the Chena Hot Springs. It still looks pretty cold there!
Mom was able to see Kathryn in Madrid. They are currently in Italy; Emmie's Ph.D. defense is tomorrow, April 14!
