Senior Daughter-Parent Dinner at Holton

We love Holton-Arms School. The school motto, Inveniam viam aut faciam, "I will find a way or make one," aptly represents an institution where girls are engaged in learning--a rigorous, dynamic and challenging program in a nurturing and compassionate environment--and guided in developing self-esteem and competence to lead the fullest life. Their mission is to cultivate the unique potential of young women through the education not only of the mind, but of the soul and spirit. They delivered.

The parent dinner was wonderful. There was an adorable video of the girls through the years, a short speech by a favorite staff member, and a welcoming into the alumni sisterhood by the class of 2013. We are so thankful that Julia will be embraced and supported by this community for the rest of her life. Thank you Holton!

Tysons Mall: Prom, Graduation, Prom…Spanx!

The theme of our dinners has changed. We are no longer contemplating life-altering decisions, but instead are faced with a laundry list of must-do ASAP or before the Holton prom, Holton graduation, or Chris's prom. This week's dinner was less about the food (bibimbap bowl at the Mixing Bowl) and more about finding some dresses! After several hours and many stores (with many of the same dresses), we had to throw in the towel; however, we did purchase some Spanx! Holton advisors recommended the girls purchase Spanx for under their graduation dresses. There is a Spanx shop near Bloomingdale's; love it.

Mother Daughter Tea Huge Hit

Thank you Holton-Arms School for a lovely mother-daughter tea. It was delightful. The hallway outside of the dining room had a photo gallery of all their baby pictures. So cute! The hardest part was writing a letter to Julia that will be mailed to her at college next year. They also had a slideshow with pictures of mother/daughters 15 years ago and today--heart warming.

Everyone received a full plate of treats and delicious tea.
