Back in the Lab and Eating Out with Friends

A crazy weather week in Columbus and DC. Check out the highlights from Julia's week. She was back in the research lab! There seemed to be a lot of eating out...

V-Day and Skating

As a singleton, Julia had an OK Valentine's weekend. She went skating with Matt and Stephanie. She enjoyed some Chinese food and celebrated a friend's birthday. I had lunch with the IMF boys--always a pleasure to catch up and spend time with them. Still missing Whisper!

Ramen, Bands, and Birthday

Julia and Steven enjoyed Veterans Day off. OSU handed out donuts and dogs outside of the Wexner Center in honor of veterans. Julia is busy as classes gear up for the home stretch, writing papers and prepping for final exams.  She went to Meshikou Ramen Restaurant  for Japanese ramen--the real deal--with Stephanie and her friend. Julia highly recommends the barbecue chasu bun! She attended a Battle of the Bands concert on Friday. Her friend, Patrick, is a drummer and his band won the competition. She stopped in at the Union to see a rally in support of Mizzou. We missed hearing her radio show (Caitlyn was out of town), and especially missed her at Kathryn's birthday party! Sunday, I made an 8-lb roasted chicken...it was yum! Besides seeing Jules, I can't wait to feed  her nutritious food!

Bash at the Barns

Julia is enjoying her classes and time with close friends. Stephanie is still cooking for her...sweet! Julia joined the GES softball team. She enjoyed a quiet right outfield position (hee hee), but was able to make contact with the ball and make it on base. Whoo-hoo!

Whisper had her pins removed, but now she's back in a regular cast for another month or so. Steven and I attended a 50th birthday bash at the Barns (at Wolf Trap). The food was phenomenal--everything labeled nut free, gluten free, dairy free. I was in heaven. It was a fun time, great band too.

Clubs, Soul, and Procedure

News flash! We have converted Julia to be a lamb-eating lover! And why not? It is so good. Thankful for another productive week and many interactions with Julia. She has set her schedule for the fall and it includes a climate change course and her official delve into the major, Atmospheric Science (think, meteorology). Julia had an active weekend with her various green clubs and Green Engineering Scholars relay race. What a cutie Stephanie is. Julia also produced an entertaining computer-programmed train video. Steven and I went to a Christian Science church in Fairfax and to Holy Trinity on Saturday; feeding the soul doesn't have to be from a specific denomination. Steven tried a new procedure for his migraines. Dr. Macedo injected lidocaine up into his nasal cavities for the purpose of an extended numbing of the inflamed nerve causing pain. It was a bit uncomfortable (check out the picture!), but Steven said he will probably try it again.

Olentangy, Food, and Fun

Julia and Jon doing homework.
Tribe update
Julia is busy with school; chemistry is challenging and the two-credit engineering class is requiring more time than most other four/five-credit classes. Stephanie went home for the weekend, so she's had the room to herself. Between classes and homework, she's managed to walk along the Olentangy River and go out with friends. Is it parents weekend yet??? We are counting the days until we see her. She needs rain boots, rain coat, and winter jacket. Can't wait to shop, stock-up her food supplies, and take her out for yummy (healthy) meals.

Steven and I have off tomorrow. It has been raining here off/on this past week with more to come next week. It feels like fall with temperatures barely reaching 60.
