Penn State Visitor and First Bath

Julia attended the 20th Annual Severe Weather Symposium this past week. Chris came to see her over the weekend for the start of his spring break. She enjoyed catching up with him and took him to all the nice places: Noodles & Co., Condado, and Buffalo Wild Wings. He witnessed her radio show first hand and spent time with her wonderful friends. Julia purchased a new queen-sized bed and is enjoying the roominess of it.

Our kitty had her first bath. And, apparently, the breeder's newest litter loves to snuggle with her. The picture below shows her after she emerged from the bottom of the kitten pile. We are all looking forward to picking her up...well, everyone except maybe Quiet. Still haven't finalized her name.

Concerts, Cava, Kitty

Missing this beauty! Julia is having a great semester. She went to Patrick's gig, as well as Dark Star Orchestra. Sarah and Julia met the rugby team and chatted with the coach. Maybe a new sport to try next year? They are thinking about it.

Steven and I visited CAVA...a new favorite, love the lamb. I forgive them for messing up my order last week. We've decided on our next new addition to the Simpson tribe: a Bambino girl kitty. We are still working on a name; suggestions are welcome.

Bare Burger and Concert

Julia and Matt went to Bare Burger for a fun date night (friends only). The burgers look delicious. The best news--besides that they offer free range, pasture raised, gluten free, antibiotic free, humanely raised, grass-fed meat--they are opening a shop in Dupont this June! Julia attended Daniel Ellsworth and the Great Lakes concert.

V-Day and Skating

As a singleton, Julia had an OK Valentine's weekend. She went skating with Matt and Stephanie. She enjoyed some Chinese food and celebrated a friend's birthday. I had lunch with the IMF boys--always a pleasure to catch up and spend time with them. Still missing Whisper!

Super Bowl Weekend Home and Goodbye to Whisper

Tribe reunited! It was so good to have Julia home. We all ate very well. Mom came over Saturday for some Wagshal's Pitmaster Back Alley BBQ. Sadly, they ran out of brisket; however, the beef and pork ribs were delicious. The fried chicken was nothing special. On Sunday, Aaron, Dana, and Ethan came over for the Super Bowl. Aaron brought lots of yummy appetizers. We roasted a 5.5-pound top sirloin roast from Wagshal's...incredibly good, especially the next day. Steven made red sauce with sausage.

Last week, Julia went to Blaze Pizza for a Buckeye Blackout fund-raising event.

Then we had the sad event of saying goodbye to Whisper, Tuesday night. Julia's Facebook post says it all.

Concert, Swarthmore, and Family Time

Julia comes home this Friday--yay! Meantime, it is school and work as usual. The Washington area has recovered from the blizzard. Columbus has had no major snow. Julia attended several dinners with friends, including a spaghetti and meatball meal made by Matt and Jim. She even captured photos of some of her own healthy creations; kudos, Jules! Jake and Julia attended the Oh Hellos concert and this week she'll be prepping for a midterm on Thursday.

Laura and Emmie came this weekend--rescheduled from last weekend--after visiting Swarthmore. We had a delicious dinner at Lisa & Tony's. Thanks for the steak, mom; Steven is still raving about it. It was nice to spend time with Laura, Emmie, Nick, and Jorge. On Sunday, it was 60 degrees with promises of milder weather all week.
