Friends, Friends, and More Friends

Catching up after being out of commission for a week! Thankfully, Julia and Steven did not catch the nasty chest cold. Julia has been busy reconnecting with friends and had a fantastic first week at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC). She went to a soccer game with Jessie, Sarah came to town with her parents, Maddie and Mike visited for the day, dinner/movie with William, and lots of yummy meat from Wagshal's. Other good eats at Tony and Joe's, Super Chicken, Nando's, Chipotle, Dumplings and Beyond, Whole Foods salad and hot bar...

Celebrating Mom and More

This past week, Julia brought home a bike for Steven in exchange for lunch at Roll Play. She also had sushi with John Robert, a long-time Holy Trinity friend. Laura came to town for Mother's Day weekend. We had a fun-filled Saturday with the Georgetown Garden Tour (took pics of Kitty Kelly's house and license plate), Moby Dick for lunch, and Chima Steakhouse for dinner. On Sunday, we had a nice leisurely brunch before taking Laura to the airport. We missed Lisa, Clarkson, Emmie, Sam, and Nick. Julia cranked out the miles this week!

Homecoming from Kiev and Columbus

Finally, the tribe has been reunited. Julia is home! Steven is back from his procurement speaking engagement in Kiev. He shared a pic of his rabbit dish and the menu that I would love to try! The city and hotel look amazing. Good eats from Columbus--BiBiBop and Katalina's--and Moby Dick's on the way home from picking up Steven. It was nice to have Julia at the family celebration for  Ethan's 15th birthday. And, something we don't do every day, Julia and I ran downtown for her global entry interview. She has committed to working out and is on a running streak! Way to go, Jules.

Finals Countdown and Emptying the Fridge

Julia is making it...one final and one meal at a time. Over the weekend, one of her atmospheric science pals had a party at his parent's house. Good food and fun--a nice break between the five finals. Besides emptying out the last bits of the refrigerator, Julia maintained sustenance from Bibibop, Chop Shop, Dairy Queen, and other fine dining establishments. Here in the 'hood, we missed the Georgetown House Tour (must do next year!). Most rewarding was the massive donation we made to the Lupus Foundation. They made it super easy and took everything, all before 8 am. Our last visit to Moby Dick's without Julia was yummo...Super Combo--get the double lamb kabobs people!
