Family and Friends Time

Friday night, Miriam came over for a pot roast! News flash--we (and the "we" includes Quiet and Peanut Butter) are so excited she will be residing nearby and visiting often! Saturday night, we met the family at Chef Geoff's in Tysons. The food was delicious. They offered and specially prepared tuna tartare for me (which was not from their gluten-free menu). So good. And, everything was delivered to me by the manager, not our server. She reassured me and asked if I needed/wanted anything else--Impressive! It is a big deal when the restaurant goes out of their way to ensure you don't get sick from their food. Thank you, Chef Geoff!

Rocklands, NATS, Annapolis, Union Market, Dumplings and Beyond

Benjamin drove Julia back to DC and stayed for some fun... Rocklands, Washington Nationals game (they won--nice park, great food!), Annapolis crab fest, Union Market, and Dumplings & Beyond. It was nice to have them here and hard for Julia to say goodbye.

Pure Michigan Isn't Just Hype

Julia can attest to the validity of the "Pure Michigan" commercials. You SHOULD celebrate summer in Michigan with long days, cool nights, and the nation's longest freshwater coastline. Pure Michigan has been Julia's summer playground! Thank goodness she's coming home this week; however, 'cuz we miss her!

Deep Creek Weekend

Steven and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend away at Deep Creek with Lisa, Tony, Ethan, Kathryn, Mom, Don, and Laura. It was relaxing, as well as adventurous and fun! Food highlights included the deep fried Wagshal's turkey and fried chicken wings! It was nice to catch up with Don and Laura and kick around ideas for their big 5-0 birthday trip! Tony and Kathryn were patient and so helpful in getting me up on the wakeboard! Ethan ensured I was alive and the heart was pumping with a wave jumping cruise around the lake on the jet ski. How can an aunt say no to your teenage nephew? When he offers the ride of terror, you just say YES! Oh, I love those kids. We missed having Julia there.

Exploring and Enjoying Michigan

Julia and Benjamin left Washington, DC, stopped over in Columbus, OH for a few days, and then landed at Benjamin's family home in Traverse City, MI. They have a beautiful house on Lake Michigan. Julia has had the opportunity to see the surrounding areas and all that they have to offer...food, festivals, and family (Benjamin's family is making her feel right at home).
