Packing Up Washington

The last couple of weeks have been busy packing up necessities, wrapping up the NASA gig, and finishing up as much as possible with Anna on the research paper. B-U-S-Y! Meme came over and took Julia to lunch at Boulangerie Christophe. Thanks, mom! Julia is also planning some quality time with friends this weekend... but it is going to be hard to say goodbye for sure. This week's surprise was Julia's wisdom tooth poking through--an X-ray confirms that they all must come out. This will be at the top of the to-do list for Julia in St. Paul. Also pictured are some new murals in Glover Park on Wisconsin Avenue.

Prepping for Interview

It was so nice to have the kiddos back from Michigan. I have a few shots from their time while they were there (gorgeous sunflowers!). Benjamin came back all trim and clean-shaven for his Air National Guard interview. We wish him the best; he deserves his dream job, wherever that may be. Meme came over dinner. We had chicken from Wagshals. It was nice for us all to be together.

Elizabeth got a call from Georgetown University offering her a slot for the fall--and she accepted! Benjamin drove down to UNC-Chapel Hill (she had been moved in for just a week) and picked her up. Congratulations, Elizabeth!

I snuck a picture of a nun on the grounds of Georgetown Visitation, walking, holding her rosary beads, and hopefully praying for the state of our nation. :)

Skating and More Celebrations

We were able to draw the birthday celebrations out another week. Meme came over for dinner to see Benjamin (who brought and bought her a new bike for her bday). Then Jules had a birthday/reunion celebration with her Holton friends, significant others, and Jessica. They socially distanced at Stoddert Elementary SchoolGeorgetown Cupcake made its usual appearance.

Julia practiced in the basement a bit, before taking the new skates to the Anacostia Skating Park. It is outdoors and huge. Steven and I used our inlines; however, my new quad skates are on their way (from Denmark).

Julia and Benjamin headed back to Michigan for 10 days. Check out his very cool van! On their way, they stopped and spent time with Caitlyn in Pittsburgh and Wes outside of Detroit. A long day of driving, but they made it just after midnight.
