Leeds Posse Reunited and Caitlyn

Julia is back into the swing of life at the University of Leeds. Besides reconnecting with her American/UK friends, Caitlyn is in town for a visit! Julia looks so grown up with that hair cut.

Last Week in DC

We finished the puzzle. We maxed out on trips to Wawa and Wingo's. We ate lots of meat from Wagshal's. Julia got her hair cut--super cute, shoulder length. We also managed to digitize those sentimental, heart-warming videos...so precious.

Julia went back to the University of Leeds--first class!--and turned in her dissertation proposal. She'll present the proposal and then begin the hard work of delivering on it. We miss her already! It was so wonderful to have her home.

Snow Storm and Celebration for Steven's 50

The Sarrges, Mom, Chad, and Miriam came over for dinner last night. Per the birthday boy's request, we had Wingo's wings and sirloin meatballs from Wagshal's. Dessert was Georgetown Cupcakes and cookies.

The snow started Saturday around 4 pm. Twenty-four hours later, DC has ~6 inches. However, the flurries may continue until midnight. So thankful that we were able to celebrate with family last night.

We ventured out for coffee around noon and were thrilled to find Wawa's open! There were quite a few people walking around the neighborhood. I'm hoping more people got out and cleared their sidewalks because the cold temperatures are staying and that means the snow is staying.

Chicago Birthday Excursion

Julia and Benjamin met in Chicago for Benjamin's 23rd birthday, January 10.

Holiday Happenings

Julia is home--yay! This meant lots of friends, family, activities, and great memories over the Christmas holiday. We visited the Capitol Christmas tree, which was beautiful and not busy (as usual). We had a fun-filled Christmas Eve, with gingerbread house decorating and then a wonderful meal of deep fried turkey, ham, and various yummy sides. Christmas day, we had Mom, Tony, and Dennis over for dinner--Wagshal's porterhouse and delmonico steaks (so good!). December 26, Benjamin came to town. Don and Laura came to DC on the 27. We went to the Udvar-Hazy Center, ice skating, had Wingo's, more Wagshal's steak, and then the cookie decorating party. It was so nice to see Julia's Holton friends. Steven went to a basketball game with the boys; Mom and Laura came over and were a huge help in making the party a success. We met Chad at Union Market (cool, hip place where I found pig ears!). We went to the Sarrge's for New Years with a Wagshal's turkey (to deep fry, of course) pheasants, and pig ears (deep fried deliciousness); Julia went to New Hampshire. Happy 2019! We're excited to see what this year has in store for our tribe.
