Making Memories in Michigan

Sadly, Julia left DC. She traveled to Traverse City, MI, to be with Benjamin and his parents. They went ice skating on Lake Michigan and skiing at a nearby resort. Fun, fun! But, we miss her terribly! Yesterday, she made her way back to St. Paul to start the spring semester. So far, classes are in person.

Birthday Celebrations

Steven and Julia went wild with the Wingo's order! It was nice to celebrate Steven's birthday with her before she left. The cats will be lost without her for a bit. :(

Walking Weather to Snow Storm

On January 2, who would expect it to be in the low 60s in Washington, DC? We had planned to meet the family at a park in Potomac, but it was packed--no parking anywhere. So, instead, we went back to the Sarrges and hiked around Hidden Oaks Nature Center. It was nice to convene in person, COVID-free. Check out Tony and Kathryn on the Harley-Davidson! The very next day, we are waking up to snow on the ground with predictions of 5 - 10 inches possible by the end of the day. Crazy. Mom is off to Florida to visit Art & Regina, hopefully, she's able to get out of dodge.

New Year Limited Celebration

Happy to ring in 2022 without masks, together in one room, and the water back on. A pipe burst on the evening of the 29th, creating many holes in walls and dust everywhere. Just in time, the water was back on in the afternoon of the 31st. Dinner from Sushi Keiko was a nice break: sushi, tuna tartare with quail egg, sashimi assortment, and seared salmon. We had a Zoom call with Mom, Chad, Lisa, Tony, Don, & Laura. It was nice to catch up and exchange well wishes. Julia and Steven went for a bike ride--mild temperatures has been the silver lining of the holidays. (Day 12, Julia is still testing positive with the antigen test.)
