Hoya in the Hood

Benjamin's sister is attending Georgetown University--in person this year--and we're so happy for the chance to get to know her better. She is as sweet and genuine as her brother. :)

Benjamin brought moose steaks and smoked salmon sticks--oh my goodness, so yummy! This boy is so thoughtful.

It was so nice to have Julia home again. She is our sunshine.

80th Birthday Bash

Happy 80th Birthday, Mom! She looks nowhere near her age and is way more active than all of us put together. Watch out for Ruth Nieboer to be touring on the pickleball circuit or perhaps the Senior Olympics!

We had a wonderful weekend all together as a family celebrating her. We took a Hamilton walking tour in DC, lunched at Foggy Bottom, and then had a lovely dinner at Trio Grill. Thank you to the 80+ people who contributed to the celebration by submitting a card and photo to Boombox. WOW, she has made an impact on many lives and is dearly loved.

Sunday afternoon, mom jetted to Florida to spend the week with her twin, Regina. Love you, mom!

Office on Campus

Julia is back in class and now has an office--with not so bad of a view! She also upgraded her home office so she can stand and work. The flu shot kicked her butt, but now she is on her way to DC and we can't wait to see her! Since the Salvation Army would only take the ottoman, the other two couches have created a nice lounge area in our back parking spot (waiting for DC pickup).

First Day of School Never Gets Old

Julia started her first day of school as a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Minnesota. Exciting! She has already accomplished quite a lot in her first year (#FINESST Award), so I'm sure more great things are headed her way.

Phase 1 of house improvements has been completed--front porch, back deck, and upstairs bathroom. We liked the contractor so much, we are dreaming up new things for him to do. Stay tuned!
