Prague Adventure

After a quick trip to the hospital in London for Sarah and (thankfully) a quick recovery, Julia and Sarah made their way to the City of a Thousand Spires, Prague. They saw the must-sees, including Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Town Square, Jewish Quarter, the Clementinum, and more. She brought back an amazing skyline picture for Steven that captures the spires, and showcases the architectural gems of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, and Art Nouveau styles. They had a wonderful time.

Hello Benjamin, Goodbye Leeds

Benjamin made one more (kind of surprise) visit to see Julia! He was able to participate in the holiday parties and enjoy the last few days before break with Julia. They had some good eats at Trinity Leeds and the Union Cafe. Their dinner and Secret Santa exchange looked fun with her friends (and Benjamin!). They both departed Leeds on Saturday. Julia met up with Sarah in London; Benjamin went back home.

Sarah fell ill in London, but after a long event in the ER--she has recovered. Off to Prague today!

On the home front, Steven and I got new glasses, went Christmas shopping, and tried the Glover Park Wingo's. So good.

Celebrations and Gatherings

Our IT launched a new inTRAnet (internal website for staff). We had a party and the cake was supposed to say, "IFC Intranet Go Live." How funny that the only thing catering got right was, IFC. Go Live--> Good Life? We definitely all had a good laugh! Julia is working furiously to finish up her last few assignments before she leaves, sprinkled with some holiday festivities. Her residence hall had a party. Ruslan (from Moldova) and Justin came over for an American Thanksgiving on Saturday. Funny enough, they like our American holiday and celebrate it on the Saturday after "black Friday." So, nothing new to see there, except for maybe a 19-pound bird in person. Miriam came over Sunday to help us put a dent in the leftovers and she brought me flavored salts--YUM!
