Memorial Day Weekend

Julia, Benjamin, and Elizabeth headed to Columbus, Ohio, for a Saunders family wedding (pictured here with Benjamin's grandfather). Meanwhile, in DC, I met up with my favorite 2-year-olds, Maggie and Vickie. We went to Viva Vienna! and the pool. They are getting so big and overflowing with adorableness. As always, I had a great time with Vera. Mom came over for a lamb roast and was able to see the kids when they returned. Enjoying our last few days with J & B, before they head to another wedding in Massachusetts. We (and cats too) will miss them.

Georgetown Grad!

We have had the privilege of participating in Elizabeth's journey at Georgetown University. She will always be our GT daughter--making us proud and changing the world for the better. We have also enjoyed our time with the Saunders, so much love and kindness between our families. We are so blessed.

Remembering Chad

Our gatherings, our plans, our lives... all have been altered with the death of Chad. Time together and outreach from friends and family have provided some solace.

His high school best friend got this tattoo last week in his honor. It totally captures Chad.

Even Booberry was giving hugs this weekend.

Celebrating Mothers

Julia and Benjamin went camping with friends and saw the northern lights. They were even captured in an MPR News story photo.

We caught up with Nate and Tom for dinner on Friday (Seasons 52). They are so sweet and fun. On Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day at Fogo de Chao. Not pictured...the beautiful flowers from Julia. Can't wait to see her in a couple of days!

Band Gig and May Day Parade

Julia's band (Large Boulder the Size of a Small Boulder) had a gig this past weekend and they now have merch--t-shirts for $25. :) Very cool! Jules and Benjamin also went to a May Day parade in St. Paul. We are counting the days until they arrive.

Springtime Senior Thesis and More

While it feels like we have jumped right into summer here in DC (90-degree weather), in St. Paul, it is springtime. Julia has been busy working, practicing with the band, and fun events with friends (women's hockey!).

Steven and I attended Elizabeth's senior thesis presentation, How Mobile Apps are the First In, First Out Solution to Advancing the United Nations' SDGs. She did so well. Impressive and heartfelt--she is going to do some real good in this world.

And if you were still thinking about moving in next door to us... too late. The property was under contract within a week.
