The big news this week--Julia got her hair cut (after pic and before below)! We went to Lisa and Tony's for a delicious prime rib roast. It was so good; it felt like Christmas. Mom is in Florida with Regina, who continues to make progress and looks great!

Sports Galore
Busy time in sports! Julia went to a few watch parties to see the Washington Commanders beat Detroit and the Ohio State Buckeyes win the championship over Notre Dame. She also attended the women's hockey league game (Frost) with her friends Matt and Ann.
Elizabeth sent us a picture of her skiing/snowboarding with Ethan and Bri!
On the home front, Booberry has been overseeing all work-from-home efforts. This past weekend, I passed the Certified Wellness Practitioner exam. Thanks to the unbelievably cold weather this month, I've stayed indoors most of the time and studied enough to pass. :) I'm glad it is over.
Also pictured is an ornament that Jackie made and sent to Julia for Christmas. It adequately represents Julia's sometimes negative feelings about her PhD program--haha.

Birthday Fun
Washington got almost 8 inches of snow on January 6. Schools were closed for a few days and due to the cold temperatures, a lot of the snow and ice still remains. Julia left :( for St. Paul on Sunday. She got a picture of the Pentagon from the plane. It is much colder in MN. See the picture of her grocery cart; she had to restock her refrigerator after being gone for ~6 weeks. It was so good to have her here.
Steven turned 56! We celebrated with Julia on Saturday with sushi-grade tuna from Wagshal's--lightly seared, as we like it. On his actual birthday, we celebrated with sushi, a new cat mug, and wool socks--pretty good for a Monday birthday. :) Then Lisa and Tony treated us to a Caps game last night. It was a blast--and they won 3-0!

Welcome 2025
Happy New Year! We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Capital Grille—thank you, Lisa and Tony! Mom, Maureen, Chuck, and Terry were there too. We got back to Annandale just in time to see the ball drop. We're looking forward to more good memories with friends and family.
Cookie Decorating, Wellness, and Wizards
Thanks, Mom, for the supplies and decorations. The Holton girls (along with some of their significant others) enjoyed another year of cookie decorating —this was the 14th year! Earlier in the day, I took the fam to see my office and the Wellness Center. The most fun was watching Julia get in and out of the massage chair--tricky but worth it. All blood pressures tested were normal. Benjamin tried out the InBody scale as well. We also went to a Wizards game--an exciting, close game that we won!
Christmas 2024
First Christmas with Benjamin! We enjoyed having him here (and also FaceTiming with his family). The gang came over for Christmas dinner.
