Holton Reunion and Costco

Last week, Julia and Benjamin visited Papa (Benjamin's grandfather) in hospice. Chelsea was able to go as well. Unfortunately, he passed away a couple of days ago. We had the honor of meeting him at their Ohio State graduation. He was deeply loved.

Julia and Benjamin then came to DC. For Benjamin, it was a quick overnight, but it was so nice to hug him and catch up. Julia stayed and enjoyed a reunion with her Holton girls. The main attraction was Susannah's daughter--so adorable. Julia also went to dinner and a movie with Emma. 

On the home front, Julia took us (Steven, Brenda, Katie, and me) to Costco. She is a member and lives within walking distance of a Costco in Albuquerque. It definitely wasn't a great idea to go on a Sunday afternoon, but the trip was a huge success! :) Dinner, of course, was a Costco rotisserie chicken. And yes, we'll go back for sure--but probably only when Julia is in town. 

Baby Shower

Julia went to Boston for Susannah's Holton baby shower! They all stayed at her house—lots of laughter and good times.

 

Florida and Friendsgiving

Julia spent a week in Florida, then back to St.Paul for a couple of days to celebrate Friendsgiving. I cannot wait to have turkey! It looks like they had an impressive spread. Her Holton pal, Lia was in town and spent the night. Then Julia had to jet to Denver to work on her ice cores from Antarctica. She'll be there all week, before briefly stoppin back in St. Paul and then home to DC. Best part, she gets to sneak in a few meals with the Saunders girls (Elizabeth below). 

 

Friend Reunion in NYC

Julia and Benjamin spent a long weekend in NYC. Benjamin reunited with housemates from OSU. They went to a Mets game, and in addition to hanging out and eating out in cool places, Julia had the chance to connect with her friends—Aly and Nadira (University of Leeds), Jessie (childhood friend), and Lia (Holton friend).

New York City Friends

Julia took the train up to NYC to spend time with friends, including childhood bestie Jessie, high school friend Lia, and University of Leeds friends Aly and Nadira. 

Sphunge Islands

Check out the beautiful pictures from their camping trip with friends Lia and Mike. They canoed and camped the Sphunge Islands in Kabetogama Lake, which is in Voyageurs National Park.
